Cultural Diversity  

Africa is regarded as being the cradle of mankind, the continent in which modern humans evolved. This long human history on the continent has resulted in an extremely large cultural diversity in all parts of Africa, including the Kunene River basin.

This chapter outlines:

  • The different Ethnic Groups to be found in the Kunene basin;
  • The inclusion of Traditional Knowledge in Water Resource Management; and
  • Stories of the basin people, providing an insight into the importance of water to the peoples of the basin.
